Like the sound of that. Iv'e been trying to digest all the thoughts from t'other thread. Might even be able to do so given a month or three. Time is in there somewhere. Perception of time is another thing that I suspect makes humans a bit 'otherly' compared to other animals. A change from Hunty-gathery lifestyle to settled lifestyle would cause a change in the way people perceived time. To the point where an already developed fauculty to recognise that the past has happened and that the future will happen, would result in formulations of time based, rather than event based, ideas about causality. There could have developed a tension as a result of cognitive dissonance induced by the 'unatural' act of staying in the same place. Cyclic time might have given way to linear time, and the pre-occupation with circles and lines began.

'Time broke through' as they used to say in Sapphirre and Steele :-)
