I saw them do that live at one of the scala psychedelic allnighters. But it was after they'd stopped specifically dressing the part. I think the Captain was wearing a rugby shirt if I'm remembering right.

Haven't really explored the Damned catalogue overmuch. Do know that the old version of the first lp box set is pretty great, not sure if it differs much from the recently released one other tahn not having the documenatry which I think is just audio anyway.

Have been meaning to pick up the more psychedlic stuff with the Captain on after reading the Optical Illusion piece on how great a guitarist he was.

Also meant to check them out live with Patricia Morrison on bass since I used to talk to her in the late 80s. Never got around to it though & she remained the one member I didn't get to talk to when I did the Gun Club piece 10 years ago.
