Got to give thanks and praise to Mooncat for this one. Not at all my usual cuppa (far from it) but listening to them doing their thing with so much grace, power, inventiveness and sheer chutzpah makes it impossible not to really enjoy this record. The musical equivalent of watching the handball in the Olympics.

Los Elementales - Arco Iris
Shamefully I can't remember who recommended this band to me but the Art Ensemble of Chicago meets Wishbone Ash and "Caravanserai" era Santana sound they produce is just irresistable. No clue what they are singing about which is probably a good thing.

Smile (2 disc version) - Beach Boys
Nice enough. Not a huge leap in sound quality on my system. GIven I play it maybe twice a year I would have been pretty happy sticking with my 31 track bootleg and the Brian Wilson version.
