All the excitement over the Beach Boy's Smile

made me check out one the "buzz" box sets of

the last couple of years:

Amazon has Big Star's "Keep An Eye on the Sky" for $38,

down $20 from its release.

It's a great set, maps out the world of an American band

building on the Beatles' melodic legacy, but with southern grit.

Great harmonies, rhythmic guitar crunch, driving drumming, great songs, a real treat, even for those who never paid them much attention, but may be melodically hungry.
