Love the lo-fi, almost demo tape sketchiness of it, the quite dark, folky melodies mixed with hip-hop rhythms, the sense of it in places being an unfinished third Stone Roses album with John Squire's guitar missing- Ian, Mani and Reni play together for the last time on one track. Makes me wonder what I've missed not following his solo career since).
I would recommend his next two albums - Golden Greats and Music of the Spheres. Really like the dancey production on GG, which i suppose was the direction Ian was trying to take the Roses rather than Squire's 70's rock. Solarized is quite good as well. Haven't really heard or wanted to hear the more recent stuff
