Condolences for your loss, I went to see Les Miserables last week which was one of my Dads faves and blubbed like a big girly thinking about the old fool.
but time is the great healer they say it is, one problem is of course that music being more important to us than 'normal ' folk, certain pieces of music will evoke memories and surprises for many years
