I think in many ways 'Mary Poppins' was Walt Disney's real masterpiece (tho I know it gets scolded by purists for detouring too far from the books). It's the perfect film in many ways, tho it's obviously a live-action cartoon fantasy of London. The music in it is fantastic. Julie Andrews completely owns that role- I hear Spielberg wants to do a version- I suppose he'll go back to the source- I sure hope he doesn't intend to redo the musical!
