Yeah, I did wonder how on earth some documentation could survive that. It's hardly the same as leaving stuff in yer jeans in a 40 degree wash!
I don't beleive in conspiracies either, not these fantastical types anyway.
I remember reading way back however that the Bin Laden family own something like 3% of the 'entire wealth' of America. Now none of them are complicit, but Osama didn't take too favourably to their 'Western connections' amongst other things, to put it crassly, and there was speculation that the reason they knew it was 'him that did it 'so quickly is because they knew something might've been brewing. Hence, perhaps, fake reports of a found pasport.
I do believe there was and is at least, some governmental cover up of someone's dreadful incompetence.
