exactly -

according to the biased and inflammatory bio I read,
(so it's open to question)
he replaced things that it would seem didn't need to be replaced

I've read FZ himself saying elsewhere that
in his own view he was just improving the product
and couldn't figure out why people were so bugged

and I think from what I've read that
the GD were doing the same thing, sorta
second-guessing themselves and being a bit
critical after the fact rather than letting the piece
stand as a document of its time

I can understand the temptation...

But on the other hand I have no problem in either case
with the product in its original form
