Only a few this week, heads not in the game musically speaking.

Coil - Ape Of Naples/....Ambulance.../ Moons Milk V 2/ Moons Milk (Bonus)
Not listened to Coil in too long. Really enjoyed these after so long, esp. the Moons Milk Bonus disc (Copal, Coppice Meat, Upel) and the 'And The Ambulance Died In His Arms', one of the more laid back live outings from ATP 2003. Johns on fine form banter wise, and the use of Hurdy Gurdy takes many tracks into new and wonderful territory's. Maaaan, I miss these cats!

The Fall - Fall Heads Roll/ Ersatz GB
Not the best Fall albums, but certainly not the worst. 'Heads Roll' is Worth the entrance fee for 'Blindness' alone, but do love the Move cover 'I can see the grass grow' too. Love the grungy guitars and krautiness of Ersatz. 'Nate Will Not Return' has a great Joy Div vibe to it (guitar-wise). Think this tour was the last time I saw the Fall. Will have to remedy that if they get out and about this year. Ersatz Album (edit) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CLQvrck2RsU&list=PL4F70EBA6741A24D8

12" Singles

T.G - Discipline

PTV - Unclean

Not much between these two, I just love the relentless-single mindedness of both tracks, though both executed somewhat differently.

Bauhaus - Bela
Still probably my fav' post punk 12". It's such an audacious statement of intent for a debut release, and after only 6 or so weeks being together. I'm told it's a one take thang, dunno how true that is, but there are a few fuck ups within, so possible. Was also my introduction to the idea of 'Dub'. I'd not really come across it before this, Sure Peel played the odd dub track, but it was Bela that turned me onto the possibilities of how spartan/ stripped back/ effects laden music could be so exciting. Went on to be a big dub fan, but took me a while to prick up the courage to venture into my local raster hang out dub emporium. Bela - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OKRJfIPiJGY

Had a listen to bits of a stream of that new Bowie Box Set 'Who Can I Be Now'. Not much I hadn't heard before/ don't own (2x Versions of David Live, really ???) The Gouster 'album' holds together pretty well as a proto Young AMericans. http://consequenceofsound.net/2016/09/listen-to-david-bowies-long-lost-1974-album-the-gouster/

Have a better one!
