I haven't had a chance to listen to the Marillion in detail yet, especially as some of their records have taken year or more to bed in with me, so too early to have any kind of opinion. If Art Rock is the Labour Party of music genres then Prog are the hard left faction within it. Expelled in the late 70s and 80s only to return triumphant in the 2010s. So the unusually good reviews this record has had so far may mean that the country's critics are moving in a more Prog friendly direction or else the band have made a record with much of what makes them who they are diluted. After all these years it may also simply be their turn to have a day in the sun.

Meanwhile I have been enjoying these ....

Pleasure - Accept No Substitutes
Pleasure - Dust Yourself Off
PFM - Live In Roma
Pink Floyd - More
Freeez - Best Of
Jakko Jakszyk - Road To Balina
Real Thing - Children of the Ghetto (best of)
The Byrds - Fith Dimension
The Byrds - Younger Than Yesterday
The Beatles - Please Please Me
The Beatles - Meet the Beatles
Stones - Goats Head Soup
Iamthemorning - Lighthouse
Commodores - Machine Gun
The Fierce and the Dead - Magnet
Matt Stevens - Lucid
