I didn't know them at the time they came out, I was too young to be aware of them, but both Cattle and Caine by The Go Betweens and Estuary Bed by The Triffids have a profound impact upon me.

Maybe it's the intention in writing those songs about lost childhood and teenage years but it's not just hearing them, it's thinking about them that brings on nostalgia for me.

Boundary Rider by Grant McLennan is another song whose ruminations on life has a melancholy impact which might not quite be nostalgia but it is something close to it.
