Lynyrd Skynyrd – disc one of a 3cd best of, lovely bit of mellotron on Tuesday’s Gone, not an instrument you associate with southern boogie

Herbie Mann with the Bill Evans Trio – Nirvana
Herbie Mann Muscle Shoals Nitty Gritty picked this up with the Bill Evans cd in one of those original album packs, and this is stunning swampy soulful jazz produced by Tom Dowd, really enjoyed it, found at the Village Gate quite lightweight and haven’t dared the bossa nova cd but Muscle Shoals Nitty Gritty comes recommended
V/A Dark Britannica We Bring You A King With A Head of Gold & John Barleycorn Reborn – a great deal of new folk or whatever it’s called this week, all most enjoyable
