Sorry, I grew up around this music, my parents were very involved in the scene. So I'm apoplectic that there are people in the world that don't rate 'nicola'. It opens with 'Go your way my love' ffs, probably the finest recorded moment of Bert.

'Birthday Blues' is far from an essential purchase imo. The tracks on it that make it worth a purchase are 'Poison', 'A woman like you' (which is absolutely class),'Wishing well' and for reference purposes the early version of 'Miss Heather Rosemary Sewell'. Its not a bad album though.
