I loved how much Kid Jensen was so clearly in love with his cowboy boots when introducing Magazine on TotP. Small details speaking volumes. Also I was strangely thrilled by how much Poptones played on the acoustic guitar sounded like a Steve Howe or Nancy Wilson part. That in itself shows the genuineness of the original idea of everything-going-in-the-pot. Magazine chanelling SAHB was out of the same dynamic. Speaking of which where were ATV?

Bobby Gillespie was particularly good on Metal Box. Though I would say that Floyd's Animals also realised that dank ugliness of the 70s in their music. Different approaches same end result though you could argue that of the Prog and "Classic Rock" bands Floyd were probably the least technically gifted musicans. Those two records would be my choices for the Callaghan / Thatcher time capsule along with the atomic bomb shelter made of three-piece-suite cushions.
