I saw Ed Blackwell once, he was a hell of a drummer. Don't know if he did sessions as a leader?
Archie Shepp is on one of the Haden duets albums too.
Haden's solo stuff and some of his collaborations with ECM type artists and Pat Meth are a bit um-ah (or should that be "Ah Um"?) but the second Ornette alumni band album "Old & New Dreams", which has a great (possible definitive) version of Lonely Woman on it, is absolutely a must-own.
