Kent Beer Festival 2010
Jul 18, 2010, 13:34
Here's the beer list for this year's festival:

http://www.kentbeerfestival.com/beerlist2010.pdf

No Allendale beers, but two Thornbridge ones, including Jaipur, my favourite strong ale.

I'll be concentrating on the Kentish beers mainly, since few of them are ever seen outside of that county. Hopdaemon are particularly excellent.

Allendale beers are commonplace at my end of the world (NE England) but I've yet to be won over by them. My favourite local beers are from Jarrow and Bull Lane: Rivet Catcher and Nowtsamatta respectively.

Thanks for that list, I'll have a good look at that :)
Jaipur's bloody gorgeous too, Thornbridge really are showing how good beer should be done these days

Being an ex-Allendonian I'm very partial to the Allendale brews, love the Golden Plover and Wolf most, best enjoyed on tap in the Golden Lion.

In the absence of any Allendale beer down here though I can console myself with amazing Tap bar on Sheffield station that has Thornbridge as it's house beers, dirty job but someone's gotta do it :D

Next time I'm back up in the North East I'll seek out the Jarrow and Bull lane brews out they sound great cheers!

Thanks for the heads up, ESK. Even the name 'Night Terrors On The Isle Of Louie Hardin' sounds more inspired than Dead Songs. I might have to see where I put my old casette player before I pick it up, though. Does this mean the Tape Comeback starts here? These are interesting times.

It's sold out from the label at present, but should be available from Norman/Blackest Rainbow/Boa Melody Bar soon, assuming you're in the UK.

Also keep an eye out for their upcoming 'Radio Valkyrie' 2xlp on Digitalis. That was supposed to come out a little sooner, but the delay of the Time-Lag LP caused that one to be delayed too. I'm expecting it to drop mid-August. Supposedly it's vastly superior to the Time-Lag LP...

Has this actually come out? No joy finding it at any on-line stores...

Jarrow & Bull Lane ales
Jul 18, 2010, 18:33
The Jarrow ales are best sampled at one of Jarrow's two excellent pubs, i.e. The Robin Hood at Jarrow, or The Maltings at South Shields (my local). Superb beers all.

Bull Lane ales aren't that easy to track down outside of Sunderland, but if you do feel brave enough to venture into Mackem country you'll find them at their best at the Bull Lane brewpub, i.e. The Clarendon in High Street East - and at only two quid a pint.

I love real ale me. As my ever-expanding belly will testify!

got that from Demonoid last week. Think it described it as arabic surf music but it gets a bit weirder than that very trippy in places. Wasn't sure when it was from though. Bits sound like they're contemporary and others pretty early 70s.

It is from 2010 and considered "hip hop"!

Could be my favorite of the year so far -- big points for unclassifiability.
