Nobody says it was Copes fault did they ? The fucking point of this thread now is people trying to find out IF it's a dodgy batch or if they're all fucked, get it yet ? I reckon they're all fucked. This can be proved by someone who claims to have a copy that sounds good posting the frickin numbers on the back of the said CD. you ugly twat. :D

To my ears, the Deluxe version sounds fine. I can't hear anything in Slow Rider for example that isn't on my original Jehovahkill CD (Canadian release) - played both on computer through 10yr old mini hifi or played on my SACD system & amplifier.

Mind you I've also played Tripecac's wav samples several times and can't hear any crackling etc. on his Deluxe wav either ;)

To satisfy several people here are my CD codes, although there's not going to be more than 1 pressing of this CD yet anyway :-

CD1: 06024 984 315-6 01 * 51795913
CD2: 06024 984 315-8 01 * 51798734

How about you guys? What are your numbers, and do your CDs sound worse than the original CDs?

Mine are the same and fine...but I've only listened to them in the car

Mine are the same too. I imagine they will be as they're all the same batch. i can't hear anything really bad on them. There maybe a couple of dodgy discs about, or maybe it's a problem with people's stereos, but mine are ok.

You don't hear the crackle in the "deluxe" wav, when compared to the "original" and "+10db" versions? http://tripalot.com/cope/reviews/#jehovahkill-deluxe

Hmm, maybe my ears (or speakers) are more sensitive. To me, the crackle is very apparent on my main stereo and my main computer speakers. When I played back on a pair of cheap, muddy-sounding computer speakers, I couldn't hear any difference; that's because the muddy speakers don't have a good treble response.

Crackle is only evident when you have a strong amount of treble.

For those of you who aren't hearing the crackle (yet), could you try turning up the treble (and volume) and trying again?

A great test would be for two people with "bad" and "good" CDs to temporarily swap CDs and see if the crackle is CD-dependent or listener dependent.

Do any of y'all know each other in person?

What other testing on my end can I do to try to find out if either:

a) all CDs are the same (crackle depends on listener systems and habits)
b) some CDs have crackle and others don't
c) the CDs have varying degrees of crackle
