Whoa, some of those titles take me back to places I'm not sure I'd want to return (though I too hold a soft spot for "How Long"). I do question the inclusion of Todd Rundgren though -- what's to feel guilty about there?

Yeah, I thought the Rundgren inclusion was a bit odd to say the least. Out of the other ones mentioned, I liked Brian Protheroe's 'Pinball' at the time. As for the Alessi Bros. - utter cack imho !!

>Perry laments the loss of "a naive but crafted pop >sensibility that actually wasn't that different from >punk". Que? ; )

I too like How Long. Would normally agree with you about Todd but a mate lent me a Todd DVD the other day and it was awful. It was filmed in San Fransisco (IIRC) in 2002, and Todd was part of a 3 piece playing some really pedestrian rock stuff with endless turgid riffs and 'hey look at me' solo's. Even his singing wasn't great. Actually, it didn't sound like todds voice at all. The version of Open My Eyes wasn't bad, but otherwise it was dire. Hard to believe this was the same man who made A Wizard A True Star.

I just thought it was a really daffy song. Or is it 'daft' as the English say?
