What have I been trying to say all these weeks about ELP? They are totally unfashionable, which is what makes them totally cool! ;-)

Nah, I blame Thatcher. They should have changed the title of that song to "The Politics Of Making Shit Records That Sell By The Tonne, Wearing Bad Suits, Doing Loads Of Cocaine And Ignoring All The World's Problems In Favour Of Fiddling While Rome Burns", but somehow I don't think that would have been quite as big a hit.

I wish I could see that letter again that Mr. P. had sent in to the N.M.E. circa 1972- which was put in the same paper under the 'blackmail corner' feature in 1977/8.....got me thinking that he may have sent it in (the second time around) himself- only anonymously!

Best Dollar song was Hand Held in Black & White, with that superb (at the time anyway) production that inspired ABC to get Trevor Horn to produce them. From then it was just a short step to FGTH. Now if wasn't for that pair of, er, blonde beauties, we might never have had the mighty Relax. I'm rather partial to Videotheque as well!

Actually "Politics Of Dancing" was so cheesy I'd probably laugh if I heard it again! But Kagagoogoo's "Too Shy" was bad enough and I wouldn't wanna hear any of their followups anytime soon... "Talk Talk" by Talk Talk was good though... Alot of people complained it was like Foreigner trying to be new wave, which could be true as some of the singer's phrasing on that track did sound uncannily like Lou Gramm.
