You answered it yourself. Chaos theory means you can't predict the weather beyond a few days, as small errors in the starting measurements have unpredictable effects on the outcome. It's one of the classic examples!!! Ever hear of butterflies in relation to chaos theory? It is rather old.
The same principle applies to climate.
1. We don't accurately know the starting conditions (HUGE understatement!).
2. We don't know for sure how all the factors interact.
Therefore, attempts at prediction are futile.
