There really does seem to be no shame whatsoever in the White House or at Downing Street.

I want to break things sometimes when I hear idjits in the US get all huffy about 'government subsidies' on things like social programs or the space program. The #1 Subsidy is the Pentagon, on behalf of big oil. The neocons have been hollering that the Iraq invasion had nothing to do with oil... but we all know better... not 'oil' per se but the power and wealth inherent via control over it.

The shamelesness is wide spread, it seems. In Norway we still produce cluster bombs, though we officially are veeeery much against them being used. They were probably last used during the Israeli bashing of Southern Lebanon. Money talks loudly, but in a twisted language!

Sad but true; directly or indirectly we are all a part of it.

Civilian deaths in Iraq since the coalition rolled into town: 43258 minimum to 48035 maximum. So, what makes it an insurgency and what makes it civil war?
