There are eight independent organisations monitoring civilian deaths in Iraq, Iraqi Body Count, the one the UK government and media quote from, has the lowest estimated death count because they only use english media sources to verify deaths and ignore Arabic reports, so the amount of blood on bliar and bu$h's hands is considerably more unfortunately. The Lancet came fourth with around 100,000 deaths, the highest, and forgive my ignorance in not remembering the name was as much as 300,000 I'm afraid.....and you wonder why they hate us?

I only use those figures as they tick away in the box at the corner of my PC screen - http://www.iraqbodycount.org/ - civilian deaths since the invasion. I'm well aware that it's a subjective figure and the true number may never be known.

40133 minimum to 44662 maximum.

Think how awful things would be if George 'n' Tony weren't committed to peace in the Middle East.

Civilian deaths in Iraq since the coalition rolled into town:

41639 minimum to 46307 maximum.

Delving through the album collection at my mates house, I came across some very old Genesis and played The Knife. Aside from being a fine, sprightly piece of prog, I was struck by the validity of the recurring line: "Martyrs of course, to the freedom I will provide."

How very Bush 'n' Blair.
