The Uk's Human Rights record is hardly perfect as it is, I certainly don't want it getting any worse.

Well...... he HAS got rights, he SHOULD have rights and he has to be competently represented. He hasn't been convicted of anything yet......

I agree, but as usual these people will hide behind rights that they do not afford those killed and injured. The right to live.

What do you mean by 'these people'?? As Toni T has said he hasn't actually been found guilty of anything? Would you deny this person his rights, send him to prison for life and then find out he's innocent? What happens then?
Everyone has rights in this country and that means everyone including those who commit murder/blow people up etc. We don't and shouldn't have to stoop as low as others and cancel the rights to a fair trial.

What I meant was that there really has been an instance where that's happened?
It's the old "we can't let them drag us down to their level" thing.
