Can you believe this?
So people who were against the war (and naturally pro-Saddam's behaviour, of course) were actually out for all that oil. It wasn't the americans / our government after the oil at all.
TALK about double speak etc.

I met him at the Hay Lit Fest last year - seemed honest, principled and intelligent to me, and not the monster that he gets painted as by the meeja.
His book "I'm not the only one" is an interesting read.

Tbh, as much as I agree with his stance over the war, I think he's a bit of a cunt too - he has an opportunistic and self-seeking air about him, just like Robert Kilroy-Silk. Judging from the people I've spoken to, I don't think he's all that popular in Glasgow either.
