indeed, there is just no other way.
only the worthwhile technologies should stay, the wasteful ones should be ... disposed of

that is why environmental awareness is far more forward thinking and pro-science than any other
a well known example is destroying the rain forest with technology whereas a cure for illnesses might provide enormous advances in science
