the fact that someone rejects GM technology does not make them anti-science but the opposite, in the same way that someone who rejects pollution and congestion in cities is making them even MORE pro-science as new alternatives are found instead of stagnating in the old technologies pushed in by big corporations;

and I do think GM has stagnated rejected by most countries around the world - no-one is really interested in having their rice and wheat trademarked FOREVER by some american big firm

starvation must be fought by political will alone - the raw material (food) IS here (US and Europe) in big supplies but left to rot in many cases due to the whims of the business fluctuations and the stock exchange
