Interesting that you mentioned WKLB Nigel. It was quite late last night when I posted the Stonehenge link so didn't elaborate but was thinking about the work on acoustics Steve Marshall did at WKLB and Avebury for his book "Exploring Avebury - The Essential Guide". His chapter (page 53) on the acoustics of WKLB is certainly worth re-reading particularly the bit on Bull Roarers.
