Fankle, Hurkle Durkle etc . sound Germanic .

Sadly , the Scots tend to ignore the Germanic input into the lingo , whereas Gaelic is lauded and even used on street names in areas with little Gaelic association .


A couple of years ago the Macneil Y-DNA project produced some interesting results , usually punters love to think they might have "viking" ancestry , but not quite in this case .
