No wonder your courses are so difficult to play Drew you don't move anything out of the way! :-)

Are so many golf courses built over the sites of "prehistoric settlements" because of the poor land management of the time robbing the earth nutrients creating the sandy subsoil(much loved of golf courses for bunkers etc)?
Obviously links courses built by the shore wouldn't be counted...different sand.

At my summer residence older people listen to the Eagles and do the Birdie dance, as I give younger folk a guided tour of various 19ths often listening to Albatross, I get taxied about by my Driver called Mac Fleet Wood(s), a real Tiger of a man, my favourite pub is the Chip and Putt and in the afternoon I have some Tee. Sometimes I listen to the gang of Four but never Five as they are a Bogey and a severe Handicap. La la la la la la...................

I think you should go and Lie down Drew after a nice cuppa from the Tee Caddie and a Wedge of cake.

Don't know, but the treatment of henge at Muir Of Ord is a disgrace whilst the people at Kintore deserve a fair amount of praise for keeping the cairn in good order. As for Cleaved Head, the people in Macduff simple don't know, maybe that is more Historic Scotland's fault. I'm sure the Grinago Stone will survive a few golf balls hitting it.

Just wondered if it had ever happened.

As in man bites dog?

I'm a woman, and a rambler - can't say I've heard of one of us killing a cow (except by proxy in the supermarket). Quite like cows as it happens, though usually preoccupied looking at wild flowers etc. ;o)

Wild flowers killing cows, now that would be something :-)

That can happen, many wild flowers are poisonous - I read somewhere that buttercups are poisonous to cattle. Ragwort is very poisonous to horses.

Chap and Chapess,

Bracken isn't good for cows, from what I'm told, although I often see sheep enjoying it. Mind you, a sheep once ate my wife's Milky Way on the top of Honister Pass.
Hate the bloody stuff too, so I do. Bracken, that is, not Milky Way.

Cheers,
TE.

Winona and Sue Ryder (Cup), Sarah Green and Pink (2 over at the par 4)

edit. I've had to replace the bar manager with somebody called Jeremy Irons after Keith Woods went to the World Cup (rugby, strange ball not really a sport!)
