Not ‘quite’ as important, as the possibility that something might exist allows for that possibility to be explored... it’s an open door, ”...not so deep as a well, nor so wide as a church-door; but 'tis enough, 'twill serve...”

(Mercutio said that :-)

I've not experienced any 'uneasy' feelings (other than dodging land owners!) but Karen often has these feelings when visiting tombs. Apparently the ability to 'feel' the presence of 'spirits' is something which runs in her family and her sister has a very strong ability to do this.
I have to say that I take all this with a pinch of salt but I remember the first time we went to WKLB Karen was unable to set foot inside due to the feelings she was sensing. This has happened at other tombs as well (not all tombs) but that time at WKLB was the strongest she has felt. I was more concerned about getting my feet muddy in the puddle!

With my experience Resonox it involved two dogs which didn't appear to be affected by anything until reaching the end of the path where the two standing stones were, unlike myself that felt uneasy soon after entering the trackway. So, taking your line of thought, my 'learned response' occured before theirs which is interesting in itself don't you think?

As you know, I'd a very similar experience last week connected with Little Gight ancient tools etc. at a place near Methlick. If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes I would have laughed at the suggestion. The fact that it happened repeatedly proved that I wasn't seeing things. Now my eyes are wide open. the results SC I'll put up here and I'll email some foties of more finds after Mr Mann has been to visit which is now confirmed. Lady Aberdeen has been notified and is quite happy to back proceedings.
A very old property that I lived in as a child in Wicklow, Ireland had numerous instances of unexplained phenomena including apparitions. There was actually an ancient burial chamber within the grounds. We had a number of dogs who reacted in an unsettled and distressed manner, bristling and growing etc at locations/ 'spots' around the property, and just before certain occurrences, as if detecting some presence that we couldn't.This began on the day we moved in and hadn't yet personally noticed or witnessed anything unusual ourselves whatsoever.

You current investigations are absolutely fascinating Drew.

Monday might give us more answers, will keep you informed.

Indeed they are!

Speaking as someone who has never met an apparition (to my knowledge) or been able to communicate with anyone beyond the dead - it would make me very happy to do so. Up till now anyway, it has always been living people who have sometimes given me an uneasy feeling - and not necessarily in remote locations. I have been known to cross the road or turn back if I pick up an atmosphere from someone approaching me.

Have been reading about ancient trackways quite a bit recently and it seems there are many 'haunted highways'. Paranormal activity is apparently often associated with old roads. Crossroads too, were traditionally considered a liminal space where normal physical laws did not apply - perhaps why wayside shrines, crosses, and stones apear there. All Hallows Eve is a favourite time for spirits to gather at crossroads and there is many bits of folk-lore around this.

As you know I had a very similar event at a place near Methlick. I felt it then unbelievably I saw it as did two other sets of eyes. But I'll post the results on TMA after Mr Mann's visit. Lady Aberdeen has been informed and backs proceedings. SC, I'll send you more pics of what we find. But my eyes are open and seeing is believing.

”There would have been a time for such a word.” Now we have the Hadron Collider.

Me and Macbeth said that ;-)
