With a wee bit of work you can do better than an approximation i.e. within half a degree .
The same applies to Newgrange it can be esily calculated without actually seeing the effect , the difference is that Newgrange has a passage which provides us with an indication of the orientation over a distance of nearly 19 m and includes over 40 orthostats ,any movement of which will not overly effect the the oreination , coupled with the light box the likelihood of intentionality is high and the targeted period around the winter solstice makes it even more salient .
Interesting pic ,some Portal Tombs have cup marks and others grooves Tawnatraffaun has a "horse shoe " carving , all on the capstone but none in Cornwall .so far , look forward to the others .
