Penance paid?
Nov 05, 2003, 00:27
Mark Horton has been the only archaeologist to publicly denounce the activities at Thornborough in print. We has posted on Britarch and also published in our favour in Rescue Archaeology. I personaly think that whilst he certainly has his own ambitions, the fact that he has been so public about Thornborough means that he is a friend of the henges.

I understand an agreed largely with the concerns voiced about the firing of the stones, but consider his contribution to the Thornborough issue of much greater importance and say that we should let him off this time.

what do you say? After all, I can point you to a potential stone row that was destroyed by quarrying without any record and quite a few other real monuments. If he is willing to put his future career (not to mention future finding opportunities via major corporations) on the line for the sake of Thornborough then this must be good.
