Oh, I dunno. Both 'Stormbringer' and 'Come Taste The Band' have their moments, and post-reformation in '85 only the iffy 'The House of Blue Light' and dire 'Slaves and Masters' are truly avoidable. I've got quite a soft spot for Purple's last couple of albums, especially 'Infinite' which to me is as good an album as 'Burn'. Mind you, given that only Ian Paice is common to both (and is indeed Purple's only constant member) they're effectively by two different bands and, let's not forget, nearly 45 years apart!

(Sobering thought: at one stage in the early 80's, Whitesnake had more original Purple members in their lineup than Deep Purple itself has done for most of this century. Those early UK-based Whitesnake albums actually weren't that bad. It was only when Coverdale dyed his hair and relocated to LA that everything went sour for me.)
