I remember sitting around at the listening post in the ILAC centre in Dublin listening through a load of great jazz stuff. plus they had a lot of jazz video you could watch on a tv set up there. Not really checked out what the libraries in this town have musically. Maybe I should take a look, but I have far more stuff at home now than I did back then. yeah, libraries are pretty good. Not sure how the interlibrary loan thing works with recorded material, if it does at all. Or if that's in fact something other people here are getting hold of material through. Shame to hear cuts might undermine that. stevo

NOT AT ALL dear boy. When you stop to consider that at least half the posts that i've ever made here were to fend off cheap pot-shots...... Fairly low rate of intended posts indeed. I think it's just got to be an Anti-American bias that's afoot here. I just can't help but notice that so few Americans care to post here with any real regularity. Or are outright snubbed altogether. I am certain, at this point, that the only thing that i am guilty of is non-capitulation. Thats not gonna happen. It's something that goes back in my ancestry i think.....ya know....hereditary memory of my forebears soundly whipping the redcoats ass's en masse. You silly lot just never got over that beating you all took. Your pretty redcoats and stiff upper lip resolve were just no match for our ragtag and ill spelling lot. Get Over It.

The Barbican library has an awsome collection of CDs, music DVDs and volumes of sheet music. Being on the same site as the Guildhall School of Music has its advantages. Don't know what I'd do without it.

Playing the victim card is not going to wash Dodge, when you systematically attack people and then cry that you're the victim. I have stayed out of all of this (yet again) because I really dislike the atmosphere you're (yes, you Dodge) causing on this site. I have no beef with you personally, but to say that people's comments to you are based on Anti-Americanism is blatantly not true - people respond to your aggression because you are being aggressive, not because you are American. It's a cycle that is becoming really depressing - you're ruining my favourite internet site with a personal crusade where you are FAR from the victim. I have watched your posts ever since I joined Head Heritage and have frequently found you to be needlessly aggressive towards people that really don't deserve it. You are extremely quick to take offence and even quicker in lashing out back. I'm not trying to be personal, merely point out a behaviour cycle of which you may be unaware. I know you have a 'shitlist' and that this post probably puts me on it, and that's a shame. Now PLEASE can we stop all this bickering and talk about the one thing we ALL care about - music.

Thanks for all the positive input. This thread should have run out off steam a long time ago ( some may say it should never have been started in the first place, so to you, apologies ; ....). It's served its purpose as an enquiry re. my ongoing psych quest. This site is a very broad church indeed, and all the better for it. The overwhelming majority of contributions are informative, intelligent, amusing, and above all, friendly. I would like to ask that we let this thread die now, and don't add to it anymore. I don't want to lock it (for obvious reasons) but I would like to see it ended. Thanks.
