No! Don't avoid them. Drive straight over them.

I think all their album covers were rip-offs of Iron Maiden record covers.

Stevo

I'm not sure now that it was OGWT - sorry!
But then again it must have been, as little else on UK TV
catered for contemporary music in the early 1970s

...just found this Osibisa DVD, but it's from 1983

...and I also found this....

nice 80s prog?
May 09, 2005, 16:19
Ahhhggg, most definitely a misplaced/spent childhood flashback there.

More of a challange - anybody think any of the stuff produced then has any merit? Or is nice 80s prog a contradiction in terms?

IQ's 'The Wake' (non-singing bits)? Twelfth Night's Fact & Fiction?? God, this hurts....

Re: what's that one band?

He was in The Gods (with Ken Hensley from Uriah Heep).
Before that he was in a group called The Shame.

Re: percolations ?
May 09, 2005, 17:25
Yup, that's it...the sole quasi-redeeming factor on "Gazeuse!". Holdsworth pretty much STFUs, and it's mainly Moerlin doing a lot of overdub work. Not quite as 'spiky' as Tortoise can get sometimes...really reminds me more of a tinker-around with some SE Asian elements, actually...but yeah, it's in that general ballpark. Remainder of the album is, of course, a fuzak disaster area...but "Percolations" is what keeps this from being 'the worst' in my book. Still, it's small compensation when you've spent $14 on an LP in late '70s dollars...
