GG's 'Aquiring The Taste' album from 1971 is a great album.
I also really like 'Octopus', 'Three Friends'and 'The Power & The Glory'.

I think they were yet another 'prog' group that 'died' in 1975....or maybe my interest simply ran out of steam

I didn't like those Yes album covers, I thought they were daft- although I liked the cover of 'Fragile'.

I like the RD album covers for :
Gentle Giant - 'Octopus'
Third Ear Band - 'Music to Macbeth'
Ramases - 'Space Hymns'

btw-I think you can get the Osibisa debut and 'woyaya' on a twofer CD

I wondered where Stereolab got the inspiration for the ETK track 'Percolator'. 'Percolations' was also the title of a John McEntire remix of that song.

The artwork for the US pressing is ace too - an octopus in a jar.

'Free Hand' (from 1975) is probably their last great album.

No they were still going much later than that.
Interview (1976) was my first GG LP and is still one of my faves.

The Missing Piece (1977) showed they had been paying attention what was happening in the UK - Betcha Thought We Couldn't Do It was GG almost going punk, whilst Turning Around was their futile attempt at a hit single. It was also an occasion when the Genesis comparisons was relevant. Otherwise, I can't see it myself.

There was at least one more album after that, but The Missing Piece is the most recent one I've heard.

Freehand is another good 'un BTW.
