I've been involved with a frac'ing job before, albeit for 2 water injection wells, but I do understand the process quite well. I'd have no problem with it happening in the vicinity of my own home.

We used water, sand, glass beads and some biocide in our cases. The volume injected may be quite small if done quickly enough.
