I like the idea that alignments have "gaps in the chain of visibility". There are a lot like that....

John Michell is sadly missed. A true visionary.

If you mean he patently saw things that weren't there by being careless with the evidence I'd agree. (Rubbing posts were not put there for cattle "I'd imagine" is a classic example. Suddenly, the number of stones in a supposed "ley" is greatly increased, and all without the aid of an ounce of critical thinking!)

Visionary ? , as in the Flying Saucer Vision ?
He seemed like a good bloke and a good laugh ,but the ideas/visions didn’t bear scrutiny ,as many who knew and liked him would agree .

John Michells work on the Canon of number and ancient metrology was, and is, visionary.

Did you read Bob's comments ?

Visionary , doesn't entail making sense or being right .

Outwith New Age thinking ,it is pseudo scientific metrology.

I did read it George, and thanks for the link. Unfortunately the contact link doesn't seem to work, so I can't verify from Bob just what he made of John's Canon of number, which wasn't really discussed in the article, and which is John's real legacy, along with the ancient metrology work.
