okay, having come late to this one I'm finding it a bit hard to establish exactly what's going on, what's been decided etc. I could wade through those daunting 150 posts but wondered if anyone would care to summarize? *confused*

Pearls and Swine, Tombo. (Fair play though Moth, you can rhyme quite well for a Northerner).

Just get the summary done swifty before we have the other thread over 300 posts & this one over 200 just with me you & Tom talking crap!!!! love Moth PS It doesn't have to rhyme - I've done that bit. And I promise not to call it 'clunky'.

Come on TomBo if I can wade through them, so can you. Aw go on then, I'm feeling kind today, but it'll be brief: Nigel (and others) want an "organisation/group" that will "spring into action" whenever an ancient site is threatened and also to tackle the ongoing apathy of EH and NT. Lots of names and straplines have been suggested but the choice of name seems to be gravitating towards "Heritage Action". "Heritage Action Group" was suggested, but HAG was though to be undesirable. If I've missed any salient points I'm sure others will fill them in (or fill me in). ;o) Now then! How about "Heritage Action Campaign"? I mean campaining is what we'll be doing isn't it? And to me at any rate it sounds proactive (oh, yes I forgot to mention in my summary that 4W hates the word "proactive" and this has been played to death already).

I really don't have time as I'm going out. However... Heritage Action as a core is popular, and some want a prefix of "Ancient" and some want a collective term of some sort as a suffix. The strapline is up for discussion. We've also had an inconclusive philosophical debate on where we should pitch our tactics in the spectrum between boring old farts and archaeo-terrorists. And that just about covers it except Moth said stuff in between the valid points raised.
