The Cure made some stupendous records. To have made such soaring throw-yerself-round-the-room classics like In Between Days & Friday I'm In Love would be good enough, but then they have done so much off-the-wall pop genius like Close To Me and Let's Go To Bed that they are marked out as Something Special.
Beyond all that, the real magnificence of them is in the dark melancholic textural work - the brooding richness and depth of Disintegration and Faith overwhelms me whenever I can face listening to them.
Relax Dizzy, it certainly ain't just you.

I don't think you're alone dizzy. I also like The Cure muchly. Some brilliant pop and leftfield weirdness often on the same album. Proper do their-own-thing band. And drawing on one's face is a mark of virtue in the cat pod.
ps. Hats off to them as well for their bit of furtive naughtiness on the "Why can't I be you" video.

Boys Dont Cry
Head Against the Door
Faith
all on tape, but they get played now and again! I also heard that recent one "Blood Flowers" a little while back and remmeber liking it. Faith and Boys dont Cry are me favorites...... though they aint as good as Joy Division! ;)

mabey not just me in th world bt im only 14 and most peeps i know are like"The Who....?" and I'm like "Noooo-The Cure, The Who wer much earlier!" bt im still workin on them and slowly bt surely i am corruptin my generation with their music, and Disintegration is a beautiful album as is faith bt don't u just love the rawness of The Head on the Door?god i sound stoopid!love dizzy xXx

My mate Roger saw them in Germany a few weeks ago!
he said they were great!
My fav Album 'Entreat' Live at Wembley stadium.
I've made a mixed CD for the car from various singles and tracks from lp's.
