That's exciting news - on Ritual Productions again? Just listening to Blown Out's New Cruiser. Mike Vest is going to bankrupt us - but at least we'll be happy!

The Saints - All Times Through Paradise
Bargain 4CD set of splendid punk pop class. Makes a pleasant and refreshing break from my current progdoompsych intake. Buy one.

Anderson/Stolt - Invention of Knowledge
Miles Davis - Bitches Brew
Yuri Gagarin - At The Centre of Infinity
Neneh Cherry & the Thing - The Cherry Thing
Steve Hackett - Spectral Mornings
The Move - S/T deluxe
Spacemen 3 - Recurring

Vinyl:

Casual Nun - Super Fancy Skeleton
Melting Hand - Highcollider
Two spot-on top releases from Hominid Sounds. Heavy heavy monster sounds.

Kikagaku Moyo - House in the Tall Grass
Sula Basana - Dreamer
The Cosmic Dead - Rainbowhead

Nudity - is God's Creation
Like Riverman says, this is pretty essential, although for me sides 3 and 4 are the ones that have made the most impression initially.

Heron Oblivion - S/T
Still an album of the year contender, I keep returning to it. really really good noise/folk/psych thing.

GAS - Nah und Fern
Khunnt - Failures

The GAS Nah und Fern is great, didn't know he was at Tusk, I know Fovea Hex are playing , I keep meaning to make the effort to do one of the TUSK things but the possibility of a crowd consisting of smug Geordie hipsters puts me off everytime. If you're going make sure you see BRB>Voicecoil, it could be sublime, it could be horrorendous but it will always be exciting.

Khunnt - Failures annoyed I missed out on the Cd extras on the early release of this, have you seen their releases on Box Records https://boxrecordsshop.bandcamp.com/ Dead Eyes is magnificently bleak, Mrs Elf when faced with the Khunnt live experience was of the opinion that they have something special, she just didn't want it

I would thoroughly recommend TUSK - went last year (and to the Rangda gig at Sage a few months back). I can't say I noticed any smugness at either!! Rangda was just mainly old blokes! Anyway, I'd recommend - and there will be at least two HHers there in any case!

The Khunnt download comes with their entire back catalogue. I've been enjoying Failures so much I've not even ventured into the earlier stuff!

Only a few this week, heads not in the game musically speaking.

Coil - Ape Of Naples/....Ambulance.../ Moons Milk V 2/ Moons Milk (Bonus)
Not listened to Coil in too long. Really enjoyed these after so long, esp. the Moons Milk Bonus disc (Copal, Coppice Meat, Upel) and the 'And The Ambulance Died In His Arms', one of the more laid back live outings from ATP 2003. Johns on fine form banter wise, and the use of Hurdy Gurdy takes many tracks into new and wonderful territory's. Maaaan, I miss these cats!

The Fall - Fall Heads Roll/ Ersatz GB
Not the best Fall albums, but certainly not the worst. 'Heads Roll' is Worth the entrance fee for 'Blindness' alone, but do love the Move cover 'I can see the grass grow' too. Love the grungy guitars and krautiness of Ersatz. 'Nate Will Not Return' has a great Joy Div vibe to it (guitar-wise). Think this tour was the last time I saw the Fall. Will have to remedy that if they get out and about this year. Ersatz Album (edit) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CLQvrck2RsU&list=PL4F70EBA6741A24D8

12" Singles

T.G - Discipline
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y8klW9trVTQ
PTV - Unclean
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MBzR0iIzMNU
Not much between these two, I just love the relentless-single mindedness of both tracks, though both executed somewhat differently.

Bauhaus - Bela
Still probably my fav' post punk 12". It's such an audacious statement of intent for a debut release, and after only 6 or so weeks being together. I'm told it's a one take thang, dunno how true that is, but there are a few fuck ups within, so possible. Was also my introduction to the idea of 'Dub'. I'd not really come across it before this, Sure Peel played the odd dub track, but it was Bela that turned me onto the possibilities of how spartan/ stripped back/ effects laden music could be so exciting. Went on to be a big dub fan, but took me a while to prick up the courage to venture into my local raster hang out dub emporium. Bela - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OKRJfIPiJGY

Had a listen to bits of a stream of that new Bowie Box Set 'Who Can I Be Now'. Not much I hadn't heard before/ don't own (2x Versions of David Live, really ???) The Gouster 'album' holds together pretty well as a proto Young AMericans. http://consequenceofsound.net/2016/09/listen-to-david-bowies-long-lost-1974-album-the-gouster/

Have a better one!

Hawklords – 25 Years On. After hearing their father bang on about this mysterious group Hawkwind pretty much such their birth, I thought it was time to give them a proper introduction… with the Hawklords album, naturally ;-0 Yep, I think ‘Psi Power’ is definitely becoming my favourite HW track. Explaining ‘Flying Doctor’ was fun.

They're on tour in October. Caught them this time last year and was pleasantly blown away. They even do a few Captain Lockheed songs - 'Ejection' and 'Psi Power' were the highlight of the night fer me :)
