Baron - Torpor. Gets released on the 23rd of October. Love this. Better even than Columns. This page has links to tracks on Soundcloud.

Going to be my album of the year in another strong year.

Chairmen Of The Board - The Skin I'm In.

Dungen - Skit I Allt. Not much love here recently for this particular brand of pastoral jazzy psychedelic prog... I find it lovely. I think the wrong bits were highlighted. Nothing wrong with this for example:

Electric Wizard - Dopethrone. The only stoner album one needs to own. Another week of listening to this non-stop. Dislike everything they recorded after this though.

Hey Colossus - Radio Static High. A great gig this weekend but it was supporting a great album. I quite like songs though and this does represent a step back from their previous all out noise attack, imposing a rigid structure on their racket. Really this is just rammed with great riffs.

Humanfly - Awesome Science. So cross that I only caught on to these guys on pretty much the day they decided to split up. Yet more thoughtful controlled riffing. Recommended.

Lee 'Scratch' Perry & Dub Syndicate - Time Bomb X De Devil Dead. Marvel that this was release in 1987! Timeless spacey dub, sounds like a missive from the future. Faultless.

Legs Diamond - s/t, A Diamond Is A Hard Rock. Wonderful. Especially the first album. So adolescent.

Little Richard - The Very Best Of. Such energy. It is difficult to put sounds into the context of the times they were recorded. I cannot imagine how exciting yet probably frightening Lucille would of sounded in 1957. I seem to be obsessed with time don't I? An age thing I suspect. Anyway many of these still sound breathless and raw, and he had bloody good bands.

Low - Trust, The Great Destroyer. Still their best I think. Listened to later albums this week as well but it is still these two I find bewilderingly great. As a friend said, its all about the next Retribution Gospel Choir album now.

Mclusky - My Pain and Sadness Is More Sad and Painful Than Yours.

Phaedre - Blackwinged Night. Contemporary shoe gazery folkiness... The usual Rune Grammofon guarantee of quality though. I'm pretty certain I like it.

Queen - Queen II.

Roxy Music - s/t, For your pleasure.

Spirit - Clear, Spirit, The Family That Plays together, Twelve Dreams.

UFO - 1, Flying, Phenomenon.
