1) John Cale - Paris 1919 ....... 2) Robert Fripp - A Blessing Of Tears ... sad, moving, music from a grieving man ........ 3) Harold Budd/ Brian Eno - The Pearl ... recorded at Daniel Lanois temple of analogue. Shows. Now thirty years old ........ 4) Jan Garbarek/ Ustad Fateh Ali Khan and musicians - Ragas And Sagas ... works well, in the main ....... 5) Kate Bush - 50 Words For Snow ... first play for the best part of two years. Hasn't stayed the course as well as the superb Directors Cut. The big plus point: the wonderful drumming throughout of Steve Gadd, perfectly matched by Danny Thompson's bass on Misty. I drew the line at Stephen Fry ....... 6) David Byrne - Lead Us Not Into Temptation ... the soundtrack for the dark and totally amoral film Young Adam - recommended - and the music matches. A feast of string playing. David Byrne for those who don't think they like David Byrne.. Mogwai too. A little gem of a record ........ 7) Low - The Curtain Hits The Cast .. featuring the brilliant fourteen minute noisefest of Do You Know How To Waltz? ......... 8) Fripp and Eno - No Pussyfooting ......... 9) The Necks - Aquatic ... part of this is on youtube ........ 10) The Necks - Open ... a work of art. I wonder how they will top it.
