Not being quite old enough for these recollections I really envy those folks who were in their late teens and early 20's during the mid 70's (and who were in the right place at the time) - if you had yr finger on the pulse you must have felt something like punk was coming. You might have been lucky enough to see The Stranglers or 101ers in 75 - it's interesting to reflect on the relationship between punk and pub; I remember watching one of those really dull tv series about 70's rock some years back - episode after episode of annoying ELP type shite (with a few good metal/glam moments)or self indulgent and lifeless blues/folk crap off the Whistle Test (and I love folk and blues if it's done right) when suddenly there was Doctor Feelgood! And it really did feel like I was hearing it for the first time coz I had immersed myself in the series, and it honestly set the hairs up on the back of my neck - That must have been a revelation for a lot of people at the time.
