Perzische Tabijten is great. I slightly prefer the Latitudes album but that shouldn't take anything away from PT which is wonderful in it's own right. It has a little more of an Arabic/Middle Eastern feel to it than the Latitudes album.

I've only listened to the Tlaotlon once and I can't get my head round it yet. I'm going to have to give it another go but, for now, it seems to be a mash up of bleeps, gurgles and rhythms. I'd love another opinion if anyone else has heard this.

No, it's later than that, Stevo - it seems to be taken from this live album.

On a more serious note they do sound on pretty good form on that version of Rescue.

School of Seven Bells - Disconnect From Desire. Like these a lot, although I gather they are now down a duo, which is a shame cos they're gonna miss those wispy and ethereal harmonies from the 2 sisters.

I was a bit gutted about that tbh, but I've heard a track off the new one and it was sounding really good.

Newie just out isn't it? Read a couple of reviews and they've been pretty positive, but those twin sister harmonies were a big selling point to me (as well as fuelling some pretty lurid brain-images I shamefully admit!). Shall wait n see I spose.

How do you rate that? Quite c21 jazz funkeh I think. I like it a lot meself. (and it was a super special top sniff...50p promo a couple of years ago. Result!!).

Really good. I got it because of the Jerry Dammers / Sun Ra connection but a pretty good modern jazz album.

I'd been rummaging through a host of promo-dreck and the cd appeared with a promo sticker on the front with bandmembers names etc and I recognised a lot of the names as from being from the Bristolian jazz/trip-hop mafia. Some of 'em are in Get The Blessing (formerly The Blessing which is just as well cos The Blessing sounds like a horribly over-earnest Deacon Blue type band to me) who operate in similar field although with a much more stripped down instrumentation.

A great buy at 50p. It's one of those albums like the Herbaliser Band record that I tend to overlook when looking for something to play that does that David Holmes thing.

I've heard the new one and was pretty disappointed to be honest. I certainly won't be buying it, but if you do I hope it's your bag.
