Hey, what d'you make of Hapmoniym and Mu? I love them both dearly. Hapmoniym's like an alternative history of the underground experimental scene since the '70s, and there's always a bit of Mako sweetness making it all fairly accessible. Some of the electric discs almost sound proto-Techno in parts. Makes me wonder if more musicians have anything like that in the archives. Amazing to think that's s'posed to be the first 5-disc set of three. Mu is a dark, far too neglected Krautrock classic.

Daytime listening the last couple of weeks has been all about Leveson but with the sessions suspended on Thursday and Friday I have had a listen to these Black Tempest - Supernormal Recordings Have been saving this for a stupidly long, one-day work trip to the west country but sneaked a listen to the first disc and it is another post-Ricochet TDream-esque cracker from the dark ritual side of Bikini Bottom. If only TD were still making records like this themselves ... Kate Bush - 50 Words For Snow "Landslide" as written from the perspective of a Bowie fan from Bexley Heath rather than a folkie from Palo Alto. Would be my record of the year were it not for "Director's Cut". Def Leppard - Hysteria The "Dare" of metal albums. Steelwing - Lord of the Wasteland Genius homage to NWOBHM from the frozen north courtesy of Mooncat (thanks!). They have all the non musical attributes - Nordic metal tresses, acres of stretch demin, white hi-tops, one member whose look doesn't quite fit, 2000AD sleevage and a classic early 80s metal logo. Sometimes listening to some young 'uns revisiting musical ground that the originators themselves have tired of is a wonderful thing. And who doesn't need a little Saxon / Maiden meet Marc Storace in their lives? Bowie - Beckenham Demos, Space Oddity, Man Who Sold The World, Bowie At The Beeb Sergiu Celibidache w/ Cologne Radio Symphony Orchestra - Brahms: A German Requiem Sergiu Celibidache w/ Munchner Philharmoniker - Brahms: A German Requiem Sergiu Celibidache w/ Munchner Philharmoniker - Bartók - Concerto For Orchestra Francine Luce - Bo Kay La Vi-A

Yeah I like it, in a good but not great way. I knew you'd ask me but I think you're probably more of a progger than I am. I think I need to give it a few more spins as I was pretty busy when I was playing it earlier in the week. I love the Cardiacs-esque-ness of it but the tunes haven't nested in my head yet. I'll definitely persevere though as I remember you saying it was your AOTY so far when it came out.
