Gotta say, for me, I think 'West' is their weakest release. They seem to be mining that organ/motorik/vibes seam for all they can get.

I'd check out the singles compilations 'Vol 1' and 'Vol 2' first, for me that's were the diamonds are (esp on V2 - Contact and I Hear Vibrations -EZ Version- take some beating),

Mind you the first album is pretty great as well.

I respectfully disagree; I actually think 'West' is the best. Just lots more clarity and punch to the sound, as a result of recording in a proper studio for the first time, and the songs have more dynamics instead of just being one long drone. Much as I love their earlier fuzzy droniness you understand, but I do think West does something different and takes it up a level. 'Home' is a stunning song. After having the album on download for a month I've just today got it on vinyl with bonus 7" so looking forward to playing that later on.

My week:

Six Organs of Admittance: Luminous Night
Wolf People: Tidings
Transept: TRSPT001
Baby Dee: Goes Down to Amsterdam Dam Dam
Dark Captain: Dead Legs and Alibis
Paul Curreri: The Big Shitty
The Lowland Hundred: Adit
The Bent Moustache: Pastures New Seasons Turn
David Sylvian: Brilliant Trees
Pink Floyd: Meddle
Status Quo: Piledriver
