The bloom may be somewhat off for Phil. While his last album 2002's Testify sold a 100,000 units in the UK for Gold He did not reach his normal gold/platinum status in the US with Testify Alot has changed in eight years and even less may be bought/sold, Phil may be only another canary in the mine for the recording industry's plummetting fortunes.

His fans are probably too old to be buying records anymore. And he's not the sort of artist to be rediscovered by new generations. (Unless maybe we're headed into a new Reagan-Thatcher-type era where it's "hip to be square" again!!)

I bet they've all got rheumatism now as a result having those sleeves pulled up regardless of the weather. Or worse, still have short sleeved suits. What was all that about? [ A school friend of mine fell totally fell for that look. He was king of the pastel shades and the rolled up sleeves and his name was Vincent. So of course, he became "Miami Vince" 8^)

Oh I see! Not this fella then: http://www.folkinfo.org/songs/displaysong.php?songid=82 Whitney Houston, I mean come on, that's just downright evil. The kind of aural bile that makes the bird's stop singing and fall out of the trees stone dead, and all the animals hide from the children in the local zoo, whereas Phil is...hang on..er...hmmmm...ok... He was quite a good drummer though. In the early 70s.
