Carlos wrote: Why? I ask because I don't have that version on cd. That version never has been on CD. Except for the one I recorded for myself a couple of years ago. Stuck a label on it, though, and this has knacked it. So it's back to the turntable again in the near future. I'll make a subtle mention when I'm in a position to let any interested party hear the original vinyl (band sleeve) mix. For the - tee hee! - record, this will be a proper hi-fi recording, not some rotten USB turntable rip to MP3 via a computer soundcard. Rotel deck through Sugden A21a amplifier to Pioneer CD recorder, and only mastered via PC after the business of recording is done.

Thanks Glam - I found that after I'd posted. Hadn't realised how good the B-sides of the MNU era were! Christmas Mourning and Crazy Farm Animal are from that period too!

I just got the 3CD version. To my ears: CD1 sounds *exactly* like the 2000 reissue, as do all the bonus tracks on CD2 which were on the 2000 reissue. This makes the 2000 reissue 100% redundant, at least in terms of the audio. CD2's other tracks are all on Piano, but sound more muffled. Someone else pointed out that they sound speed-adjusted and/or noise reduced, which makes them bass-heavy. I agree. I don't know which I prefer. Since Piano also has 3 more tracks not on this Kili reissue, that means we need to hang onto Piano. CD3's Peel songs all sound louder on Peel Session Plus than here. That's the opposite of what someone else said. Maybe our ears are different, or maybe one of us got it backwards. Either way, it only seems to be a loudness issue, so I think we can safely declare the Peel songs on here to be redundant. That just leaves the 3 new songs on CD3. So basically, what we just paid for is 3 songs, some maybe-better-maybe-worse Piano tracks, and different liner notes. I can't help but feel a tiny bit ripped off. But oh well, at least they didn't completely butcher the sound like they did on Jehovahkill Deluxe (or screw up the liner notes like on Peggy Suicide Deluxe).

Or miss out "Uptight" from Peggy, or some of the other b-sides...

I had a US copy of Kilimanjaro on vinyl (still in the possession of an ex along with all my pre 2001 collection/or on the local tip possibly grrrr!) which i know has different track list to the UK one but i do remember preferring the mixes on that version, the separation seemed better and the bass end more defined, leaving the sound less tinny, which was certainly the problem with the original (way back when) CD issues. Anyone know if this was yet another mix or just my ears (and possibly memory!) deceiving me?

As far as I know, the original US LP differed principally by including Suffocate and having an extended intro on Reward, which was also included.
